Shenzhen Port Group and BYD Deepen Strategic Cooperation

Shenzhen Port Group and BYD Co., Ltd. will continue to deepen cooperation in areas including roll-on/roll-off vehicle export, overseas assembly center development for KD kits, and international logistics for complete vehicles and KD kit containers.

On September 2, Shenzhen Port Group and BYD Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement to further promote the efficient overseas expansion of “Made in China” intelligent vehicles.

　　Shenzhen Port Group Chairman Hu Chaoyang, President Shen Huaxin, and Vice President Qiao Hongwei attended the signing ceremony and discussions alongside BYD Group Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Passenger Vehicles He Zhiqi, and BYD Group Automotive Business Group Planning Department General Manager Yin Zhenlong.

　　It is reported that in recent years, Shenzhen Port Group and BYD have maintained close collaboration, achieving significant results in automotive export operations. From 2024 to July 2025, the group's port areas handled 220,000 vehicles. Since its opening, Xiaomo Port Area has successfully developed 13 domestic and international roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) routes, handling nearly 100,000 vehicles.

　　Under the agreement, both parties will deepen cooperation in areas including ro-ro vehicle exports, KD parts overseas preparation center construction, international logistics for complete vehicles and KD parts containers, automotive supply chain and trade, and green port development.

　　Specifically, efforts will focus on enhancing port logistics service capabilities by strengthening maritime shipping routes, green logistics corridors, international supply chain services, and new energy refueling infrastructure. This will optimize end-to-end logistics costs and timelines for vehicle exports, thereby boosting the overall competitiveness of Chinese automobiles in overseas markets.

　　Simultaneously, leveraging the operational, geographical, and spatial advantages of the Xiaomo Port Area, and building upon the strategic cooperation foundation with automakers like BYD, efforts will be intensified to expand domestic and international shipping routes. Supporting infrastructure will be developed, including pre-shipment warehouses and distribution centers for vehicle exports, to establish an integrated domestic-international trade hub port for roll-on/roll-off vehicle exports in South China.

　　Furthermore, by leveraging the complementary shipping route advantages of Shenzhen Yantian Port Area and Hong Kong Kwai Tsing Port Area—two international container hubs—the port will gradually weave a denser maritime logistics network covering major global automotive consumer markets. This initiative supports Shenzhen's development as a global hub for new energy vehicle international trade.

　　Shenzhen Port Group stated that the next step will be to continuously enhance the port's international service capabilities, provide full-chain support for automobile exports, optimize new automobile logistics channels radiating nationwide and reaching globally, and persistently increase the “Shenzhen content” in the global automobile industry.
