From January to October this year, China's shipbuilding industry continues to rank first in the world in terms of share of the international market. A batch of high technology and high value-added ships have achieved batch order and mass production.
Recently, China Shipbuilding Shanghai Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute has received additional orders for the design of three car carriers from South Korean shipowners. So far, they have taken orders for 60 vessels of this type this year, accounting for nearly 70% of the global share.
A series of high technology and high quality ship types, while winning design orders, also provide solid technical support for Chinese shipyards to undertake large volume construction orders. In the global classification of 18 major ship types, China has 10 ship types ranking first in the world in terms of new orders received. At present, the number of LNG vessels with the highest construction difficulty in the world has increased to nearly 30% of the world, the highest level in history. In China Shipbuilding Hudong Shipyard, a new record of 9 LNG vessels were built in parallel for the first time this year.
Data show that from January to October, China's shipbuilding completion, new orders received, handheld orders in deadweight tons, respectively, accounted for 45.8%, 54.3% and 48.7% of the global market share, continue to remain the world's first. In addition, China's shipbuilding enterprises to enhance international competitiveness, six shipbuilding enterprises new orders into the global top 10.
