Wuhan port throughput exceeded last year's total one month ahead of schedule
On December 18, container cranes on the quay of Wuhan Yangluo Port carried out loading and unloading operations. In January this year, the integration of Phase I, Phase II and Phase III terminals of Yangluo Port was completed and unified operation was realized. From April, the data rose month by month, to May, a single month box volume reached 314,100 TEU.
As of November 30, Wuhan port completed a cumulative cargo throughput of 119.05 million tons, up 16.98% year-on-year, and container throughput of 2.501 million TEUs, up 9.79% year-on-year, surpassing last year's total one month ahead of schedule and both hitting a new record high. This achievement continues to rank first in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River port, marking the port of Wuhan's radiation and influence in the basin is significantly enhanced, the hub position is increasingly consolidated, and the construction of port-based national logistics hub city is accelerated.
Since this year, Wuhan has focused on the goal of 'achieving 5 million TEU throughput and building a hub port in the central region', striving to overcome the economic downturn and the impact of the new round of epidemic, efficiently coordinating epidemic prevention and control, traffic control and safety production, promoting the integration of port resources, actively expanding effective investment in the port, vigorously promoting port infrastructure construction. It has made efforts to improve the port's throughput capacity, build a multi-level river-sea intermodal transport system and build a smart and green port, ensuring a steady growth of Wuhan port cargo throughput and providing strong momentum for the high-quality development of Wuhan water transport.
