It took two and a half hours to fill the train, but now it only takes 40 minutes. With the landing of the first intelligent green demonstration operation area for bulk dry bulk cargo, Rizhao Port has achieved the industry miracle of 85% compression of personnel at the site of dry bulk terminal and 3.6 times increase of per capita interest rate, which provides a model for domestic ports to follow.
'Previously, systems such as stacking and retrieving materials and loading and unloading trucks had to be controlled by different people, but now one person can complete the whole process.' Zhang Shoubo, the leader of the bulk dry bulk green intelligent terminal construction team, introduced that in the traditional train for loading operations, the bulk cargo has to be backed up to the roadside by car first, and then loaded to the train by loader. Manual loading mode is intensive, low efficiency and serious pollution to the environment, which is a heavy burden for the green and low-carbon development of the city and an urgent problem for domestic terminals to solve.

As an important global transit base for energy and bulk raw materials, Rizhao Port's throughput has been ranked the sixth among the national coastal ports, among which bulk dry bulk cargoes occupy half of Rizhao Port's throughput.
Based on this, Rizhao Port has fully demonstrated its role as a large port, taking the world's leading '5G+Digital Middle Platform+AI Digital Twin' bulk dry bulk smart terminal technology as the core, and has implemented the transformation of unmanned stacker-turner and intelligent yard cooperative operation, realizing the breakthrough from single machine automation to the whole process intelligence, and the whole operation area turning, stacking, picking and loading are operated automatically around the clock. The whole operation area of turning, stacking, taking, loading and other aspects of all-weather automatic operation, completely based on data decision-making.
'The city is the pillar of port expansion, and only by making all corners of the terminal 'unmanned and less crowded' can we make room for urban development and truly realize the automation upgrade of domestic dry bulk terminals.' Up to now, the full labor productivity of Rizhao Port Shizu Port South Operation Area has increased by 312%, which is 4.7 times higher than the traditional operation method, and the port has achieved 66% reduction in carbon emission. The first domestic automatic hook removal system of the overturning machine in the port area can achieve a 100% success rate of fully automatic unmanned hook removal and a 12% increase in operational efficiency.
