Guangxi Beibu Gulf port cargo and container throughput among the top 10 in the country
Recently, the Ministry of Transport announced the national port 2022 statistics, Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port cargo throughput, container throughput once again among the double top ten, ranked 10th and 9th in the national port respectively.
According to statistics, in 2022, the cargo throughput of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Port completed 370 million tons, an increase of 3.7%, higher than the national average of 1.5% of coastal ports, ranking 10th in the national port. Among them, the container completed 7.02 million TEU, ranking 9th in the national port, an increase of 16.8% year-on-year, much higher than the national coastal port average of 4.6%; has been for five consecutive years, the growth rate ranked in the top 10 major coastal ports in the country, but also become the only 11 international hub seaports in the country to maintain double-digit growth in the port.
From the published data, in 2022, the national ports completed 296 million TEU of container throughput, up 4.7% year-on-year, of which the coastal ports together completed 261 million TEU, up 4.6% year-on-year; completed cargo throughput of 15.685 billion tons, up 0.9% year-on-year, including foreign trade cargo throughput of 4.607 billion tons, down 1.9% year-on-year.
Influenced by the supply chain crisis, geopolitics and other factors, the port throughput increase is not much, most of the port growth rate decline, or even negative growth, Beibu Gulf port whether cargo throughput or container throughput can still maintain continuous growth, run 'acceleration', has been highly concerned by the community.
In recent years, the position of Beibu Gulf Port in the global port continues to rise. The Shanghai International Shipping Research Center released the 'Global Port Development Report 2021' shows that the container throughput of Beibu Gulf Port has increased significantly, ranking 28th in the world, advancing 6 places, ranking steadily improved, and become the national port growth rate leader.
