Our efficient port and high-end maritime services complement each other, creating Hong Kong's unique role in the nation, and internationally.' The Deputy Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr. Liao Zhenxin, introduced that there are more than 1,100 port and shipping-related companies in Hong Kong, providing a wide range of quality maritime services, covering port services, ship management, shipping economics and agency, shipping finance, insurance, legal and arbitration services, as well as classification societies and ship inspections.

Hong Kong's port is one of the key infrastructures of Hong Kong as an international trade and logistics hub. With the rapid economic development of the Mainland and the Asia-Pacific region, the role of Hong Kong's port has become more and more prominent.
The reporter saw that Container Terminal 9 at Kwai Tsing Pier was neatly lined with Tesla vehicles shipped from Shanghai to Hong Kong, which were about to be delivered to consumers.
'The SAR Government attaches great importance to the development of ports and shipping, this year's budget announcement, we, together with the Hong Kong Maritime and Port Authority and industry representatives, has set up a task force on maritime and port development strategy, within the year to enhance high-end shipping services, help the industry to zero carbon emissions transition, to promote the development of intelligent and digital shipping, and to promote the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area and the international shipping community exchanges Collaboration in the four areas of action.' Liao Zhenxin said.
Liao revealed that Hong Kong will inject HK$200 million into the Maritime and Air Freight Training Fund to strengthen the development of talents and promotion of the maritime industry.
'We hope to have the opportunity to train more talents for the industry in the Mainland, and we welcome more cooperation between Wuhan and Hong Kong, so that Wuhan can make full use of Hong Kong's international network to send goods around the world.' Liao Zhenxin said.
'Mainland enterprises are welcomed and encouraged to use more of Hong Kong's shipping services, so that Hong Kong can bring its strengths into play and contribute to the country's high-quality development.' Liao said he will continue his efforts to enhance competitiveness and service standards, including strengthening publicity and promotion of tax incentives to attract more maritime enterprises to settle in Hong Kong.
