China's First World's Largest Multi-purpose Pulp Carrier Named and Delivered in Liaoning Dalian
Green Santos', a series of 77,000-ton multi-purpose pulp carriers built by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry for CBN Gold Leasing, was named and delivered in Dalian, Liaoning Province, on the 22nd, which is the world's largest multi-purpose pulp carrier delivered by China for the first time.
'Green Santos' has an overall length of 225 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21 meters and a design speed of 15 knots. After naming, the ship will be officially handed over to COSCO Shipping Special Transportation for operation.
Chen Xuefei, Deputy Manager of Project Management Department of Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry and Project Manager of Pulp Ship, introduced that 77,000-ton MPC is a new ship type optimized and upgraded by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry on the basis of 62,000-ton and 68,000-ton MPC, which not only improves the loading capacity of the cargoes, but also further enhances the performance of green environmental protection. The pollutant NOx emission of this series of vessels meets the highest requirements of international conventions (Tier III), and the vibration and noise meets the requirements of the Green Ecological Ship Specification which is newly effective by China Classification Society (CCS), and at the same time, far exceeds the requirements of the International Maritime Organization's Energy Efficiency Design Index for Ships Phase III (EEDI Phase III).
The ship's cargo hold is well sealed and dry, which can fully ensure the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation. The ship has upgraded the 'foldable frame for commercial vehicles' and added the 'one-to-one' temperature monitoring and warning system for new energy vehicles, which can safely transport new energy vehicles while safely transporting imported pulp with high quality.
In addition, the ship can also transport high-speed trains, wind power equipment, large machinery and equipment, super-long and super-heavy steel pipe pile structures and other goods, with strong cargo hold suitability.
It is reported that 'Green Santos' will be put into operation immediately after delivery. The first voyage of the vessel will be to ship new energy vehicles and other cargoes from domestic ports for export to overseas.
